As a grad of Grove City College (Class of '16), I completed my student teaching experience in second grade and a K-6 grade Life Skills classroom. Before student teaching, I completed over 150 hours in the classroom and taught lessons in preschool as well as grades first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth. I also completed an internship at a local elementary school in a Life Skills classroom where I learned communication skills, sign language, and behavior management. There, I worked with assistive technology, such as DynaVox, in order to communicate with certain students.
In October 2017, I decided to go back to school to achieve my Master of Education degree. During the next twelve months, I completed thirty credits, including my research on personalized learning, while teaching full time, coaching the Varsity Track and Field Team, and teaching the local Summer Literacy Program. I conferred my degree in the fall of 2018. My formal education may be over, at least for the time being. However, I believe that learning is never ending. I will forever be a student. |
A year after conferring my MSEd, I co-authored and published EduMagic Shine On: A Guide for Preservice Teachers on November 12, 2019. This book is meant to help guide new teachers through the waters as they start their journey as an educator. The mentoring did not stop there! The Future Teacher Planner was co-authored and published on June 25, 2020 as a way to help pre-service teachers stay organized through their undergrad. The planner also provides users with countless resources for any year as well as specific years of underground. Learn more about both products here.
